Historic movie theater called the Mount Cinema. Closed in 2012, reopened in 2020 as a movie theater where you can stay.
Hotel with Four private rooms and a Movie theater with 300-inch screen. All facilities are yours to use.

We rented Kosuke's place over the... read more few days we were hiking Mt Fuji and it was perfect for easy access to transport as well as plenty of space and laundry facilities for hike prep and pack down. I would highly recommend Kosuke and his place for a home away from home.

We had a car, so this was very conveniently located to do the Hakone tourism circuit and also get close... read more up views of Fuji to the northwest (Lake Kawaguchi). The space itself is a converted retro movie theater with tons of cool related cinema memorabilia. The host has added a great projection/audio setup to the theater itself with lots of streaming options available. The rest of the place has plenty of space and beds, with all the amenities you’d need. It’s located in a lively part of town very close to the train station. The host is also very friendly, helpful, and communicative. If we ever find ourselves in the Hakone region again, we definitely would like to stay here again.

Kosuke has done an incredible job restoring the old movie theatre and we loved all the tiny little details.
Kosuke was also kind enough to leave us some waffles for breakfast and let us borrow bicycles to explore Gotemba with. 🙂
Communication was easy and instructions were clear.
Would 100% recommend - having the cinema screen to ourselves was a one off experience and worth visiting Gotemba for alone.

Kosuke was the nicest airbnb host I have stayed with in my 7 years using this app. The place is incredible... read more and the pictures do not do it justice. This man has done a wonderful job reconstructing this beautiful theater into an incredible inn. The place is spotless, and he has all the amenities you will need for your time there. He is so kind and helpful, coming to help us when we were lost getting to his stay, and even sharing great places to eat and see while in Gotemba. The stay is 3 minutes from the train station which is super convenient for traveling from Gotemba, or even taking the bus up to Mt Fuji for a hike. There are plenty of onsen(thermal baths) near this stay, so you can really do it all from this area. He even offered us bikes that we used to coast around the area. Besides the stay, Kosuke is a very kind person, and I plan to return here in the near future to see how his work on this theater has progressed.

We appreciate Kosuke-san as a host so much, and will recommend this place to anyone visiting Gotemba!

The place itself is unlike any Airbnb I’ve experienced. The movie theater is huge and it’s easy to hook up your computer and sit back on one of the many couches to a movie or sports event on a massive screen with an theater grade sound system. The non bunk bed room is very nice, as well as the bunk beds and each door has its own lock. Kotsuke lives upstairs so he is available, but he gave us our privacy the whole time.
Could fit 10 comfortably, has two showers two bathrooms. Has a washer.
There are all these little touches around the place that make it such an experience. So many surprises and little touches to the place. So much more to say, but I’ve hit the character limit. Do not miss out!

There's also an AMAZING pizza place right across the street, ask the host for the name, it's the best pizza we've had in Japan. The best part was watching Anime on the big screen and enjoying snacks & drinks. I would definitely stay again if in the area!

You'll find comfortable beds, great showers and restrooms, and even a washing machine.Watching movies in the "living room" theater, is such a fun bonus, it makes for the perfect stay.The host was so fantastic! He greeted us, and made sure all our needs were met. He is an artist, and created this artful place himself. He was so friendly, he felt like part of our family. A few steps away from trains and busses, and many places to eat within walking distance, makes this a great location to call home while exploring the area.We had a fantastic stay!

Great for a couples getaway or even with a group of friends to hang out. The theater room is really the highlight, with a cozy setup and amazingly big screen and sound system. You really get a private movie theater all to yourself! The location is also amazing. Literally a couple minutes from Gotemba station and located right next to some amazing restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by the great food served at the nearby izakayas.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to travel to Gotemba.

7/15/2024 The theater is so cool, I love feeling like I have my own private showing. The bathroom area is nice and clean with towels provided. You can have some snacks... read more like popcorn and coffee provided which I loved. I got locked out of my room by mistake when going to the restroom at night so either bring your key with you or take out the battery for the self locking mechanism, although this happened very late kosuke was able to help me. The theater and lobby are under construction so please understand there is a construction smell but the common area and living rooms are very nice. The iPad to play music made the experience that much more comfortable. Also it’s right across the street from the station which makes catching any bus (including the free premium outlet bus) v Ty simple.
