Kitchen had everything we needed for making food as well as fresh beans for coffee and good waffle breakfast.
Music plays in every room as you wish with a tablet so you can choose the vibe.
The local recommendations for food and coffee are fantastic.
Streaming device has options and host makes it easy to connect to hdmi but if you are coming from outside Japan make sure your devices work well ahead of time. I was able to get some classic films working on YouTube after criterion and hbo max failed completely for certain movies (mirroring did not work even if downloaded). Netflix on the host device had a few English subtitle films but most I searched for were not. Hope to visit again in warm weather.

Ev sahibimiz ise inanılmaz derecede misafirperver ve samimiydi. Girişten çıkışa kadar her konuda çok yardımcı oldu, iletişimi oldukça hızlıydı ve kendimizi özel hissettirmek için ekstra çaba gösterdi.

The space itself is a converted retro movie theater with tons of cool related cinema memorabilia. The host has added a great projection/audio setup to the theater itself with lots of streaming options available. The rest of the place has plenty of space and beds, with all the amenities you’d need. It’s located in a lively part of town very close to the train station. The host is also very friendly, helpful, and communicative. If we ever find ourselves in the Hakone region again, we definitely would like to stay here again.

Large living room, kitchen, and an even larger theater, of course. Everything you could need and more. I stayed in January so my only note is of course it was a bit cold You should definitely use the heaters and blankets the host provides. The cold was no problem tho because the host offered many times information on heating and extra blankets. The host was very responsive and helpful on every request and question. He even waited for us to arrive at maybe 9pm so he could show us around and how to use the facilities.It is directly across from the station. The place itself is unlike any Airbnb I’ve experienced. The movie theater is huge and it’s easy to hook up your computer and sit back on one of the many couches to a movie or sports event on a massive screen with an theater grade sound system. The non bunk bed room is very nice, as well as the bunk beds and each door has its own lock. Kotsuke lives upstairs so he is available, but he gave us our privacy the whole time.
Could fit 10 comfortably, has two showers two bathrooms. Has a washer.

There are all these little touches around the place that make it such an experience. So many surprises and little touches to the place. So much more to say, but I’ve hit the character limit. Do not miss out!

I got locked out of my room by mistake when going to the restroom at night so either bring your key with you or take out the battery for the self locking mechanism, although this happened very late kosuke was able to help me. The theater and lobby are under construction so please understand there is a construction smell but the common area and living rooms are very nice. The iPad to play music made the experience that much more comfortable. Also it’s right across the street from the station which makes catching any bus (including the free premium outlet bus) v Ty simple.

There's also an AMAZING pizza place right across the street, ask the host for the name, it's the best pizza we've had in Japan.   I wish I could give this stay 6 stars. Kosuke was the nicest airbnb host I have stayed with in my 7 years using this app. The place is incredible... read more and the pictures do not do it justice. This man has done a wonderful job reconstructing this beautiful theater into an incredible inn. The place is spotless, and he has all the amenities you will need for your time there. He is so kind and helpful, coming to help us when we were lost getting to his stay, and even sharing great places to eat and see while in Gotemba. The stay is 3 minutes from the train station which is super convenient for traveling from Gotemba, or even taking the bus up to Mt Fuji for a hike. There are plenty of onsen(thermal baths) near this stay, so you can really do it all from this area. He even offered us bikes that we used to coast around the area. Besides the stay, Kosuke is a very kind person, and I plan to return here in the near future to see how his work on this theater has progressed.
