Easily the most unique Airbnb we... read more have stayed at. We are a large family of 5 (three daughters) and everything was available for our needs from the kitchen to the bathroom. There are 2 large grocery stores in walking distance with one that closes at 2000 and the other open 24 hrs. We used this as a rest stop between Osaka and Tokyo (driving). Parking was included and was able to accommodate a Toyota Vellfire (full size van) without issue. If you like to cook, this place is perfect for you. Gran some fresh groceries, cook a nice meal and enjoy fabtastic drinks while watching a movie on the big screen that's all yours! Lastly, would recommend bringing your favorite DVD, Nintendo switch (console not included, but sync station available), or laptop with downloaded movies (HDMI port available). Also possible to airplay/android cast. Thank you for all!

  The theater is so cool, I love feeling like I have my own private showing. The bathroom area is nice and clean with towels provided. You can have some snacks... read more like popcorn and coffee provided which I loved. I got locked out of my room by mistake when going to the restroom at night so either bring your key with you or take out the battery for the self locking mechanism, although this happened very late kosuke was able to help me. The theater and lobby are under construction so please understand there is a construction smell but the common area and living rooms are very nice. The iPad to play music made the experience that much more comfortable. Also it’s right across the street from the station which makes catching any bus (including the free premium outlet bus) v Ty simple.

Kitchen had everything we needed for making food as well as fresh beans for coffee and good waffle breakfast.
Music plays in every room as you wish with a tablet so you can choose the vibe.
The local recommendations for food and coffee are fantastic.
Streaming device has options and host makes it easy to connect to hdmi but if you are coming from outside Japan make sure your devices work well ahead of time. I was able to get some classic films working on YouTube after criterion and hbo max failed completely for certain movies (mirroring did not work even if downloaded). Netflix on the host device had a few English subtitle films but most I searched for were not. Hope to visit again in warm weather.

Ev sahibimiz ise inanılmaz derecede misafirperver ve samimiydi.   I actually came to Gotemba just to stay at Kosukes place and I must say it was unquestionably worth it. As a film lover it was an a magical... read more and surreal experience. I was the only guest that night so I had the whole space to myself. The theater is fantastic and care and detail in every corner of the space was a joy to walk around and discover. Next time I come back to Japan, I will definitely be visiting again.

This man has done a wonderful job reconstructing this beautiful theater into an incredible inn. The place is spotless, and he has all the amenities you will need for your time there. He is so kind and helpful, coming to help us when we were lost getting to his stay, and even sharing great places to eat and see while in Gotemba. The stay is 3 minutes from the train station which is super convenient for traveling from Gotemba, or even taking the bus up to Mt Fuji for a hike. There are plenty of onsen(thermal baths) near this stay, so you can really do it all from this area. He even offered us bikes that we used to coast around the area. Besides the stay, Kosuke is a very kind person, and I plan to return here in the near future to see how his work on this theater has progressed.

We made popcorn, watch movies and had the absolute best time. We didn’t even want to leave the apartment. Kosuke is a great host. He made sure we were comfortable and gave us some recommendations for things to do in the area. It’s conveniently located and you can make it your base to explore Mt. Fuji.

Great for a couples getaway or even with a group of friends to hang out. The theater room is really the highlight, with a cozy setup and amazingly big screen and sound system. You really get a private movie theater all to yourself! The location is also amazing. Literally a couple minutes from Gotemba station and located right next to some amazing restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by the great food served at the nearby izakayas.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to travel to Gotemba.

Kosuke was also kind enough to leave us some waffles for breakfast and let us borrow bicycles to explore Gotemba with. 🙂

I would highly recommend Kosuke and his place for a home away from home.

We had a car, so this was very conveniently located to do the Hakone tourism circuit and also get close... read more up views of Fuji to the northwest (Lake Kawaguchi). The space itself is a converted retro movie theater with tons of cool related cinema memorabilia. The host has added a great projection/audio setup to the theater itself with lots of streaming options available. The rest of the place has plenty of space and beds, with all the amenities you’d need. It’s located in a lively part of town very close to the train station. The host is also very friendly, helpful, and communicative. If we ever find ourselves in the Hakone region again, we definitely would like to stay here again.
