There's also an AMAZING pizza place right across the street, ask the host for the name, it's the best pizza we've had in Japan. The best part was watching Anime on the big screen and enjoying snacks & drinks. I would definitely stay again if in the area!

Kosuke was also kind enough to leave us some waffles for breakfast and let us borrow bicycles to explore Gotemba with. 🙂

Would 100% recommend - having the cinema screen to ourselves was a one off experience and worth visiting Gotemba for alone.

It made getting to Fuji-Q Highland, Gotemba Outlet, and other attractions so easy.   By far the most unique AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. We had a car, so this was very conveniently located to do the Hakone tourism circuit and also get close... read more up views of Fuji to the northwest (Lake Kawaguchi). The space itself is a converted retro movie theater with tons of cool related cinema memorabilia. The host has added a great projection/audio setup to the theater itself with lots of streaming options available. The rest of the place has plenty of space and beds, with all the amenities you’d need. It’s located in a lively part of town very close to the train station. The host is also very friendly, helpful, and communicative. If we ever find ourselves in the Hakone region again, we definitely would like to stay here again.

It was an... read more immersive experience that I wish I could have enjoyed longer.The bnb is large with several rooms and beds. 2 different shower rooms and toilets. Large living room, kitchen, and an even larger theater, of course. Everything you could need and more. I stayed in January so my only note is of course it was a bit cold You should definitely use the heaters and blankets the host provides. The cold was no problem tho because the host offered many times information on heating and extra blankets. The host was very responsive and helpful on every request and question. He even waited for us to arrive at maybe 9pm so he could show us around and how to use the facilities.It is directly across from the station. Just a few minutes walk.Walk down the street one minute and you see Mt. Fuji! I would write more but out of space. Thanks!

A few steps away from trains and busses, and many places to eat within walking distance, makes this a great location to call home while exploring the area.We had a fantastic stay!

I got locked out of my room by mistake when going to the restroom at night so either bring your key with you or take out the battery for the self locking mechanism, although this happened very late kosuke was able to help me. The theater and lobby are under construction so please understand there is a construction smell but the common area and living rooms are very nice. The iPad to play music made the experience that much more comfortable. Also it’s right across the street from the station which makes catching any bus (including the free premium outlet bus) v Ty simple.

There are 2 large grocery stores in walking distance with one that closes at 2000 and the other open 24 hrs. We used this as a rest stop between Osaka and Tokyo (driving). Parking was included and was able to accommodate a Toyota Vellfire (full size van) without issue. If you like to cook, this place is perfect for you. Gran some fresh groceries, cook a nice meal and enjoy fabtastic drinks while watching a movie on the big screen that's all yours! Lastly, would recommend bringing your favorite DVD, Nintendo switch (console not included, but sync station available), or laptop with downloaded movies (HDMI port available). Also possible to airplay/android cast. Thank you for all!

This man has done a wonderful job reconstructing this beautiful theater into an incredible inn. The place is spotless, and he has all the amenities you will need for your time there. He is so kind and helpful, coming to help us when we were lost getting to his stay, and even sharing great places to eat and see while in Gotemba. The stay is 3 minutes from the train station which is super convenient for traveling from Gotemba, or even taking the bus up to Mt Fuji for a hike. There are plenty of onsen(thermal baths) near this stay, so you can really do it all from this area. He even offered us bikes that we used to coast around the area. Besides the stay, Kosuke is a very kind person, and I plan to return here in the near future to see how his work on this theater has progressed.

  An incredible, unique experience with an unparalleled host. Kosuke was very easy to communicate with and always responded quickly, attentive to all of our requests and went out of our... read more way to make sure our experience in town was as good as it could be. He also speaks English well.

The place itself is unlike any Airbnb I’ve experienced. The movie theater is huge and it’s easy to hook up your computer and sit back on one of the many couches to a movie or sports event on a massive screen with an theater grade sound system. The non bunk bed room is very nice, as well as the bunk beds and each door has its own lock. Kotsuke lives upstairs so he is available, but he gave us our privacy the whole time.
Could fit 10 comfortably, has two showers two bathrooms. Has a washer.

There are all these little touches around the place that make it such an experience. So many surprises and little touches to the place. So much more to say, but I’ve hit the character limit. Do not miss out!
